The Way of the Cross Through Downtown Chicago

Pope Francis has called the whole Church “to bear patient witness to the One who desires to draw all creation and every man and woman to the Father.  Her mission is to bring to all a love which cannot remain silent.  The Church follows Jesus Christ along the pathways that lead to every man and woman to the very ends of the earth.”

Therefore, all parishioners along with area school families are invited to participate in the Way of the Cross through downtown Chicago on Good Friday, March 30.

It will begin with gathering at Daley Plaza (Dearborn/Washington) at 8:45 a.m.  The silent procession will include choral music, Gospel passages and reflections. The walk starts at 9:15 a.m.

The tentative route is to pass the Daley Plaza, Veterans Memorial, Tribune Tower Plaza and conclude at Holy Name Cathedral around noon. If you would like further information such as parking or the amount of walking involved, please contact 312-725-2320 or by email at info@wayofthecrosschicago.org.

This walk is organized by The Lay Ecclesial Movement Communion and Liberation.
