School began on Monday, August 22 for students in Grades 1-8.  On Wednesday, August 24, we welcomed all of our “little ones” who attend three and four year old Preschool & Kindergarten.  Many parents, guardians and grandparents attended our first day Meet and Mingle gathering.  It was a wonderful morning of fellowship. We again have several new families registered at Christ Our Savior Catholic School and this was an excellent opportunity for new families to get acquainted with someone new.

Christ Our Savior Catholic School teachers along with the faculty of St. Agnes in Chicago Heights met on the campus of COS to begin the school year with a Day of Reflection Spiritual Retreat. Led by Marsha Johnson (Director of Religious Education at St. Jude the Apostle) and Ann Hilsen (Director of Religious Education at St. Mary-Queen of Apostles), the day focused on the theme “You Are Answering The Call.” Teachers shared experiences of their early faith life and personal goals for their future. The retreat was an excellent way to take a breather and reflect upon how they can be light to their students by sharing their faith. It was a great way to begin the school year!

In Christ’s Love,

Karen Brodzik
