Shed Some light January 9, 2016

Can you believe that one month from today is Ash Wednesday?? Some of our Christmas decorations have not yet been put away!

On Saturday, January 9, most of our 8th grade students took the annual placement test for Catholic high schools across the Archdiocese of Chicago. Every year 97 percent of our 8th grade graduating class attends a Catholic high school for their continued education. Catholic high school students in the Archdiocese of Chicago have a 96 percent attendance rate and a 99 percent graduation rate, with 95 percent of graduates enrolling in a college or university, according to the Archdiocese of Chicago. In 2015, graduating Catholic high school seniors were offered more than $200 million in college scholarships. Please continue your support of Catholic Schools, and we ask that you keep the COS Class of 2016 in your prayers. We need to keep Catholic education ALIVE in this part of the southeast suburbs!

Catholic Schools Week begins on Sunday, January 31. We will kick off the week-long celebration with an Open House from 1-3 p.m. Please stop by to view our school and witness the greatness of Christ Our Savior Catholic School. If you know of anyone with school age children, please share the good news of COS. If they are not able to attend the Open House on Sunday, January 31, please have them give me a call, and I would be happy to set up a tour at their convenience (708-333-8173 ext. 24).

Plans are underway for our Gala Fashion Show which will be held on Friday, April 29. This year the Gala will be held in our School Gym. St. Jude alum, Chris Florek, of Ever After Events has donated all of the drapery decoration to utterly transform our Gym into a magical site for our Fashion Show. We are grateful to Chris for his enormous generosity to Christ Our Savior Catholic School. More details to follow. Please save the date so you can join us for the event of the year.

In Christ’s Love,
Karen Brodzik
